The Nitty Gritty

When is the Ceremony?

 Saturday 20th September at 1pm.

  • If you’re arriving on Saturday, please be in good time, at the latest midday, for a drink and a seat and not to stress Stevie out.

  • You can arrive the day before (Friday 19th) from 3pm for the full weekend

Evening Guests - Arriving Saturday 5pm

Thank you for joining us for the PARTYYYYYYYY!

Come from 5pm for cocktails, performances, music and a silent disco.

What to wear

For the ceremony, wear your favourite outfit, your best suit, that lovely hat you always mean to wear and never get the chance to. Something that brings you massive joy.

For the evening, sequins, feathers, glowsticks, and anything glamorous

What to bring

  • A reusable water bottle - there will be taps onsite, please bring something to fill up and stay hydrated!

  • Wellies or boots and waterproofs just in case

  • Something warm!

  • Your best bit of festival fancy dress - FINALLY, a chance to dust off the glittery tophat

  • A sturdy reusable cup! We are providing some paper and plastic cups on the bar, but we aren’t hiring glassware, so its a good idea to bring some kind of drinking vessel/ durable cup. Extra points for writing your name on it

  • If you can, something for the Bring and Share Banquet on the Saturday evening. This could be a cake, flapjacks, a quiche, a quick-assembly salad, sausage rolls, your famous spicy dip. Just let us know on the RSVP form if you can so we can keep a list.

Where do I sleep?

Camping, Glamping and Accommodation - there are not one, not two but THREE options.

Free camping!

You can stay on the farm for free if you bring your own tent or van. Please let us know when you RSVP if you’re doing this.

Other options

The festival style nature of the wedding means we really hope you’ll consider staying overnight. However, we know this might not work for everyone so you do you.

There is a Premier inn just down the road in Faversham.

There are local taxi firms if you need to head home or catch a train: Dolphin Taxis

The farm has reserved the B&B rooms for us to use on the morning of the wedding, so these can’t be booked.

A cheap option with showers!

Do you like being inside a building, and having showers and toilets to yourself? You might like a bed in The Bunk Barn.

£50 per person for Friday and Saturday night (2 night minimum). You get a warm comfy bunk bed in a shared room, access to showers and toilets and a kitchen - these won’t be used by any guests not staying there.

There are 24 beds, across two rooms of 8 and 16, and is perfect for group bookings. It is first come first served! If you want to nab one first, then RSVP ASAP and let us know you want barn accommodation:

Glamping option

Go fancy and book yourself a bell tent.

It's £200 for the weekend, for both the Friday and Saturday and includes a bed and bedding, and a lovely bell tent with fairy lights and flooring.

You can stand up in them to get ready in the morning and they’re very cosy.

You need to book your bell direct with Victoria Lily Events using this specific link below.

Buy us a drink, not a present

We have everything we need to live our life together (well, except a finished house) and the community spirit of this wedding means we are asking for SO MUCH already. Whether it's performing, decorating, baking or organising, you’re all making this happen!

If you INSIST on buying something, then please consider chucking some money in for the bar.

Shots are on YOU!

Please take photos

Our budget doesn’t stretch to a photographer, so if you have a decent camera, we would very much appreciate it if you could get a few pictures of us getting married and send them to us afterwards. (Only if this isn’t going to feel like a busman’s holiday!)
Let us know if you’re up for this when you RSVP.

Children of The Weddening

Children of The Weddening

Kids are welcome - we’re even bringing our own. However, our grandparents will be taking them home to bed on Saturday night so we can party, before they rejoin on Sunday. Do whatever you need to do, we get it.

We will provide either a packed lunch for little ones (under 5s) or nuggets and chips food with the wedding lunch at 3pm, or older kids are welcome to have the indian feast. We will provide lots of snacks, but do bring extra depending on what your kids like.

If you have kids coming with you, they’re VERY welcome to form part of the Children of The Weddening, where all the kids wear their favourite clothes, hats, capes, fancy dress and get glittered up and be in our parade.

FAQ

  • We will be providing beer, ale, cider and some wine. There will be an honesty bar set up with ice and slices, and some soft drinks and mixers - however if you have a preferred tipple, or an old weird bottle of liquor you got in Malta in 1989, please bring it. If you want to chuck a few quid in for the drinks, we’d love that, please do that here.

  • You’re able to arrive from 3pm on Friday 19th and we encourage you to join us. Especially, if you love camping and want to be part of the whole weekend. We especially welcome those who are travelling from far away, building the site, singing in the band, doing a reading or have a special role, or who might need to rehearse or set up!

If you’ve been invited to the evening do, we’ll see you at 5pm and you’re welcome to stay over and join in on the Sunday.

  • Wear something that makes you feel glamorous. Get out the dress that always seems like its ‘too much’ for every other event, be your favourite self, and be comfortable.

In the evening, you’re encouraged to change into any festival outfits you love (or wear them to the ceremony, whatever you like.)
